My partner and I are opposites…in everything!! He loves socialising, I would rather sit in and read a book. He would stay up until dawn, I’m in bed soon after our kids! And when it comes to music…well, he’s a metalhead, enough said!
In today’s world, we wear being busy as a badge of honour. When asked how you’re doing, the chances are your response is usually along the lines of ‘Not bad, busy as always!’. It would feel pretentious to say ‘Well actually I have been pampering myself all morning and now I feel wonderful!’.
If I'm honest, until recently I still attached the same stigmas to meditation as others did back in the ’80s. I presumed the only people practicing mindfulness were organic cotton wearing, incense sniffing hippies with dreadlocks!
