When did homemaking get so… demanding? And how is it ever possible to live up to the Instagram Ideal? I see you, amazing woman—whether you’re a mother, sister, daughter, or wife (or even all of the above). I see you trying to do and be all the things to everyone around you. A worker, a homemaker and an all-round wonder woman, you’re spinning all the plates and trying not to let them fall to the floor because it’d be just one more thing for you to clean up.
Remember back in the days when your Mum used to run a household while also holding down a job? She would have been part of the first generation of working Mums, a title to be proud of, of course. But it wasn’t without its downsides. Because while she was busy working and still keeping the house in check, she no longer had the time to pass those valuable skills down to us, her children. This probably explains why we find it so hard to achieve the same thing now.
Well then, before we go any further, it’s time for you to put the perfectionist and guilty feeling of failure to rest and give yourself a break. Because there’s no room for beating yourself up around here.
Yes, I’m also a woman, a mother and a partner. And I run a business from home whilst trying to make it a beautiful, safe space for my family. I know just how hard it can be.
That’s why I created The Sage Haven. Here, you can be exactly who you are, strive for the perfect home you always imagined and not feel guilty if you don’t always get it right or exactly like the pictures you see in your Instagram feed.
How do I do this? I create beautifully handcrafted home decor full of love, as well as share with you any helpful hints and tips I’ve learned along the way. The Sage Haven is a safe haven. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about making your house a home—because that’s the thing your family will always remember.

The daughter of a horticulturist and botanical artist, I grew up in the kind of home you might only ever read about in books. But with a Mum working long hours to run her business, I knew I didn’t want to fall into the same pattern. It’s taken a lot of years and digging deep into myself to learn how to bring both sides of my busy life together and make it all work.
As a creative person, I learn very much by doing. And so I went on a journey of trialing various creative pursuits until I eventually discovered decoupage, which, in turn, led to the LED candles I produce today.
Combine all that, along with my upbringing, love of nature and my family, and you have the foundations of who I am today—the owner of The Sage Haven, based in Ireland. I’m here to help you make your house a home. And I’ll also offer support and encouragement when you’re struggling to live up to the standards and ideals you think a working woman, mother, wife and homemaker should be achieving.
